First Project - Bedroom Wall Art

So for my first craft blog post I thought I’d show the wall art that I remade for our bedroom. I forgot to take a before picture but these started out as wine advertisements from Wal-Mart. My sister bought them for my first apartment because she thought I needed help decorating. I admit that I did need help then & probably still now. Anyway the worked fine then but have been moved from closet to closet in the last 3 places that we’ve lived. I didn’t want to get rid of them because I knew they’d be useful later. And finally, they are!

So I started by painting then with a coat of green spray paint that I had left over from something.  Not sure what. Then I picked out 4 sheets of scrapbook paper, cut down to size, and glued them on. I decided to use different sized paper instead of all the same just to give it more impact.

After I had the paper glued down I put 2 coats of Mod Podge on, followed by 1 coat of spray-on Triple Thick to take away the tackiness. Then I added saw-tooth hangers to the back & hung on either side of the window over our bed.
